DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in Mercurial, which can be
exploited by malicious people to manipulate certain data.
The security issue is caused due to an error within the "applydiff()"
function in mercurial/patch.py. This can be exploited to manipulate
arbitrary files placed outside the repository via directory traversal
attacks.
Successful exploitation requires that a user is tricked into
importing a malicious patch.
The security issue is reported in version 1.0.1. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the development repository.
