Moderately critical
IMPACT:

SOFTWARE:
PatchLink Update 6.x

DESCRIPTION:
Chris Steipp has reported some vulnerabilities in PatchLink Update
Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL
injection attacks, manipulate certain information, and potentially
compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "agentid" parameter in
"/dagent/checkprofile.asp" isn't properly sanitised before being used
in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by
injecting arbitrary SQL code.
2) An error in restricting access to proxyreg.asp can be exploited
to view, add, and delete configured PatchLink Distribution Point
(PDP) servers without requiring authentication. This can potentially
be exploited to cause requests by PatchLink Update Agents to be
redirected to malicious servers.
Successful exploitation requires that the FastPatch add-on product is
installed.
3) An input validation error in "nwupload.asp can be exploited by
unauthenticated users to write files to arbitrary directories via
directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerabilities have been reported in versions 6.2.0.189,
6.2.0.181, and 6.1. Prior versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 6.1 P3 or 6.2 SR1 P1.
