DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in RPM Package Manager, which
can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
1) An input sanitisation error exists within the "headerVerifyInfo()"
function (lib/header.c) when parsing the header range.
2) Input sanitisation errors exist within the "headerLoad()",
"rpmReadSignature()", and "headerVerify()" functions when parsing
region tags.
3) An input validation error exists within the "headerLoad()"
function (lib/header.c) when handling the region size within package
headers.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities may allow execution of
arbitrary code, but requires tricking a user into e.g. checking
signatures of a specially crafted RPM package.
The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 4.9.1.3.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.9.1.3.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Ramon de C Valle in a Red Hat bug.
